BioSafe appoints leading environmental business consultant to board.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 1996--BioSafe International (NASDAQ:BSFE) announced today that environmental business expert Richard Golob has been named to the company's board of directors.
This brings the total number of board members to seven.
In announcing Golob's election to the board, Philip Strauss, president and CEO of BioSafe, stated, "Richard provides our management team with an experienced environmental professional who can offer advice and assistance in many areas of our company. Golob, 45, is president of World Information Systems, a leading environmental business consulting and publishing company based in Cambridge, Mass. Golob provides consulting services to environmental technology and service firms in the areas of finance, strategic planning, market research and business development. He has appeared as an expert witness at U.S. Senate and House committee hearings on environmental issues, and has undertaken consulting assignments for environmental technology and engineering companies, international organizations and government agencies worldwide.
Golob is founder and chairman of the Environmental Business Conferences, semiannual summit meetings for environmental business leaders. He also publishes two newsletters that focus on the environmental field, Hazardous Materials Intelligence Report and Oil Pollution Bulletin. In addition, Golob is a member of the Environmental Advisory Board of Charles River Partnership VI, a $50-million venture capital fund that has invested in the environmental industry. He has also served as senior environmental advisor for Tucker Anthony Inc., a major investment banking firm in the Northeast.
Golob is a member of the board of directors of the U.S. Environmental Export Council. He also serves as a member of the Environmental Technology Review Panel of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Strategic Envirotechnology Partnership, and serves as the Environmental Business Advisor to the University of Massachusetts' Environmental Business and Technology Center. In addition, Golob is a member of the Harvard Environmental Health Council, which serves as an advisory group for the Harvard School of Public Health.
A graduate of Harvard College with a bachelor's degree in biochemical sciences, Golob has been quoted as a source of information about the environmental industry and specific environmental problems.
