3 ways to treat erectile dysfunction without medication
Erectile dysfunction is a common problem. In fact, one in 10 men will suffer from the condition at some point in their lives.
We received this question from a viewer:
Dear Dr. Manny,
My husband suffers from erectile dysfunction. Are there any natural cures he can try?
Erectile dysfunction Big Dicks I Want.com occurs when a man can no longer get or keep an erection for sexual intercourse. If this happens from time to time, it's not necessarily cause for concern. But your husband should see a doctor to get a diagnosis if he hasn't already.
The doctor can also determine whether your husband suffers from any underlying health problems like heart disease or diabetes that may be contributing to his symptoms.
There are a number of treatment options for erectile dysfunction including:
Hormone replacement therapy
Pumps or implants
However, since you're interested in a more natural route, we checked in with our good friend, Chris Kilham, The Medicine Hunter.
"I know of three things that are pretty good," Kilham told FoxNews.com. "First, of course, [is] my all-time favorite herb: Rhodiola rosea. In one published study, middle-aged men took a couple hundred milligrams of rhodiola rosea extract daily and there was a 68 percent increase in erectile function among the group."
An herb from Malaysia, called tongkat ali, has been studied by reproductive specialists in the country, who have reported about 80 percent improvement in middle-aged men with the condition, Kilham added.
"We've seen at least two published studies showing that taking up to 900 milligrams of red Panax ginseng daily results in an over 60 percent improvement of erectile function," said Kilham.
