Design, Simulation and Optimization of Parabolic Trough Solar Thermal Power Plant in Etiopia
Ethiopian Parabolic trough solar thermal power plant Analyser (EthioSolA) is developed using the existing component models from various literatures. Solar collector and solar receiver model parametric values were adapted from system advisory model (SAM) simulation libraries. Visual studio 2012 ultimate edition version is used to develop the GUI part by selecting Visual Basics for the source code writing.
A very important and realistic aspects of developing the simulation software is verification and validation process. So as to validate the EthioSolA software, a comparative analysis was made between the simulated case study data from published papers with the acceptable assumed deviation due to the neglected losses like: field pumping losses, header losses, bracket losses, neglecting transient effect through out the system simulation, constant mass flow rate and so on.
