Tej Kohli, Wireless Technology
Tej Kohli finds it hard to believe the technological revolution that has surrounded wireless technology, particularly with the mobile phone. Wireless technology is now being used on various scales, from a wireless keyboard in a home to a Wi-Fi network in a school or business. It is also being used across a breadth of industries from hospitality to healthcare. In the future, new WiGig technology will enable even more wireless possibilities. It carries data much faster than Wi-Fi because its higher frequency radio signal can be used to encode more information. However, holding back the progression of WiGig is that its signals are blocked by walls and large objects, meaning that devices on the network have to be in the same room, an important issue that must be overcome for practicality reasons.
